Tourism, hospitality, and nature are pillars of this town. The greatest advantage of having a skatepark is that it promotes sports tourism 365 days a year, regardless of the season.
Regarding its geographical location, along the more than 10 kilometers of coastline belonging to the municipality of Alcalà de Xivert-Alcossebre, we can find a variety of beaches, four of which have been awarded Blue Flag status. These beaches possess a high ecological value compared to the rest of the Mediterranean coast due to their proximity to the Sierra de Irta mountain range.

We propose that in some corner of Playa de las Fuentes, Playa Carregador, Playa Romana, Playa del Moro, Las Tres Playas, Playa Manyetes, or Playa Serradal, we could create a space for skateboarding, a sport closely related to surfing.

A skatepark is a very special sports facility because, unlike football or padel fields, which always have standard dimensions, each skatepark is adapted to the needs of local skaters and the local environment. In the Nordic countries there are usually skateparks in indoor spaces due to the climatic conditions; on the other hand, both in the Mediterranean and in California, two territories that share many characteristics, skateparks can be made of concrete and be outdoors.
Once the skatepark becomes a reality, a type of sports tourism will be generated throughout the 365 days of the year, energizing on the one hand the local youth of Alcalà de Xivert and Alcossebre, as well as nearby towns, and also the hospitality sector (bars, restaurants, campsites, and hotels) of Alcossebre.
And specifically in Alcossebre, the Skateboarding Association of Alcossebre will be able to organize skateboard classes for all ages and organize different events at the skatepark facility such as demonstrations, local competitions, national competitions, and other sports-related events.
